School Methodology "Unlocking Potential"
The curriculum provides a specialised, multi-sensory approach with an emphasis
on basic literacy and numeracy skills combined with access to the majority of the
National Curriculum. Children with Dyslexia and associated difficulties often have
considerable potential in an area unrelated to literacy. The school is structured
to find and develop such abilities giving a balance between ability and
disability and thereby supporting the self-esteem and sense of self discovery.
We want to inspire children to reach for their best whatever area that may be.
We believe that school should be an enjoyable and stimulating place for all children.
Each pupil follows a carefully structured, individualised programme
of work designed to remediate difficulties and provide a sound basis for future study.
We aim to meet the demands of the Attainment Targets in accordance with the National Curriculum.
Whereas in mainstream education pupils study Key Stages according to their chronological
age, at Springvale they study according to their individual needs.
